Pablo Picasso

Worlds biggest
Collection of Picasso Posters

With the Picasso Poster Collection Christoph Czwiklitzer, the Kunstmuseum has the largest collection of the artist’s posters. In addition to numerous print media for Picasso exhibitions designed by various graphic artists, it includes all posters designed and created by the artist himself.

His colourful bullfight posters and the famous peace posters stand out among the more than 80 works.

In addition, the collection of the Kunstmuseum Heidenheim includes over 140 prints by the exceptional artist, which can be used to classify the posters in terms of their developmental history.

The works presented in the Hermann Voith Gallery at the Kunstmuseum Heidenheim revolve around the themes of Arcadia, bullfighting, peace, love and sexuality and, on the one hand, allow us to follow the artist’s development over decades and, on the other hand, to study his virtuoso handling of different printing techniques – lithography, etching, aquatint and linocut.
